Creativa Innovation Hubs in Qena, Egypt, hosted a high-level discussion with local entrepreneurs and innovators, culminating in an awards ceremony for the “Star of the South” (نجم الجنوب) competition. The event, attended by Qena Governor Dr. Khalid Abdel Halim, emphasized the province’s commitment to supporting the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, digital transformation, and green transition initiatives.
Governor Halim Reaffirms Support for Startups
During the meeting, Governor Dr. Khalid Abdel Halim engaged directly with startup founders, listening to their ideas and business models, and discussing the opportunities and challenges they face. The Governor reaffirmed his full support for creating an attractive business environment for startups and accelerating digital innovation and green transformation within the governorate. The session successfully opened new channels for collaboration and provided crucial guidance to help startups expedite their implementation steps and support expansion plans.
The discussion featured key stakeholders, including Mr. Mohamed Hani, Project Manager at Creativa, officials from Dandara for Innovation (the operator of Creativa Qena), and several company owners.
Star of the South Competition Rewards Top Innovators
The event concluded with the Governor honoring the top three innovative ideas from the “Star of the South” competition, which featured a total prize fund of 50,000 EGP provided by Creativa for the winners:
- 1st Place: Waj for Creative Works
- 2nd Place: Pottery Hub
- 3rd Place: Viamingle
In his closing remarks, Dr. Khalid Abdel Halim stressed the importance of the entrepreneurship sector in creating employment opportunities and highlighted the vital role of the Creativa Innovation Hubs in supporting young people and entrepreneurs. He assured the audience of the continued backing for Creativa entrepreneurs moving forward.
