Dubai-headquartered climate technology startup Ahya has been named the winner of the 2025 AI for Climate Action Innovation, AI for Good award by the United Nations International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The announcement was made during the 30th Conference of Parties (COP30) held in Belém, Brazil, marking a significant global recognition for the MENA-based sustainability innovator. A C3 Alumni, Ahya was selected for its advanced AI-driven solutions designed to support climate adaptation and accelerate environmental sustainability goals.
Emerging as a Global Leader in Climate Tech
The award highlights the growing influence of MENA-born technologies on the global stage. Ahya secured the top spot after competing against more than 300 companies from around the world, distinguishing itself through its practical and scalable approach to the net-zero transition. The selection committee recognized the startup’s ability to leverage artificial intelligence to drive accuracy and transparency in emissions management, a critical factor for corporations and governments striving to meet decarbonization targets.
This recognition at COP30 not only validates the company’s technological capabilities but also opens new avenues for international collaboration. As part of the award package, the Ahya team, led by Salaal Hasan, has been invited to join the AI for Good Global Summit 2026 in Geneva. This opportunity will allow the startup to showcase its innovations to a broader audience of global policymakers and tech leaders, further scaling its impact on climate action.
Powering the Net-Zero Era with AI
Ahya’s winning ecosystem revolves around its unified platform designed to simplify the complex landscape of climate compliance. Its flagship product, AhyaOS, serves as an AI-powered carbon management and accounting platform (CMAP) that acts as a single source of truth for sustainability data. This allows organizations to precisely measure, analyze, and report emissions based on global standards.
Complementing this is Tawazun, an AI-enabled voluntary carbon marketplace that connects buyers with verified carbon offsets for hard-to-abate emissions. By integrating these tools with AhyaAI, which provides climate intelligence for prediction and automation, the company offers a comprehensive suite of solutions operating across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Pakistan.
