Ring Debuts AI-Powered Smart Video Search Feature In The UAE

3 Min Read

Ring, an Amazon-owned company specializing in smart home security, has announced the launch of its new Smart Video Search feature in the United Arab Emirates. This new capability leverages artificial intelligence to help customers quickly and easily locate specific moments within their recorded video history.

How Smart Video Search Works

The Smart Video Search feature is one of Ring’s most advanced AI offerings to date, powered by its proprietary Ring IQ technology. This system utilizes Visual Language Modelling (VLM) to understand and match text-based queries to visual data in video footage.

Instead of manually scrolling through hours of recordings, users can now type natural language questions directly into the Ring app. Queries such as “what time did the kids arrive home” or “when was the package delivered” will prompt the AI to scan the event history and pinpoint the exact moments, streamlining the process of home monitoring.

A Strategic Launch for the UAE Market

The introduction of this feature highlights the growing demand for intelligent and intuitive smart home technology across the region. By simplifying video review, Ring aims to enhance convenience and provide greater peace of mind for its customers in the UAE.

Mohammad Meraj Hoda, Vice President of Emerging Markets at Ring, stated, “Across the UAE, families are increasingly relying on smart technology to stay connected to what matters most. With Smart Video Search, we’re making everyday home monitoring simpler and more intuitive, allowing customers to find key moments in seconds, without having to scroll through hours of footage. It’s another step in how Ring continues to bring meaningful innovation, convenience, and peace of mind to homes across the region.”

Availability and Pricing

Smart Video Search is compatible with all Ring video doorbells and cameras. The feature is currently rolling out in a public beta to all customers in the UAE who are subscribed to a Ring Home Premium plan. The subscription is available for $20 per month or an annual fee of $200.
