The Emirate of Sharjah has announced the launch of a new generation of digital judicial systems, a significant step in its strategy to modernize the justice sector and accelerate digital transformation. The initiative was unveiled by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Judicial Council, at the Sharjah Judicial Department.
The new integrated electronic system is designed to create a more efficient, accessible, and future-ready judicial ecosystem, underscoring the emirate’s commitment to leveraging technology for public service enhancement.
A Qualitative Leap in Litigation
H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed emphasized that the new framework represents a “qualitative leap” for litigation in the emirate. He highlighted its role in accelerating procedures, enhancing judicial efficiency, and enabling faster service delivery to boost customer satisfaction.
The Chairman of the Judicial Council commended the project teams for completing the initiative in record time, noting that the technological advancement reflects the Council’s commitment to excellence and alignment with Sharjah’s long-term vision.
Streamlining the Digital Customer Journey
The new digital services provide users with secure access via registered accounts, simplified submission processes, and comprehensive information for their cases. With the integration of multiple electronic payment options, the platform aims to streamline the entire judicial process from start to finish.
Similarly, the Public Prosecution’s customer journey has been fully digitized. This covers everything from the initial application submission and investigation procedures to court sessions and the final issuance and enforcement of judgments. The integrated systems are built to enhance transparency and ensure accurate, timely outcomes for all parties.
Leveraging AI for a Future-Ready Ecosystem
Beyond digitization, Sharjah is actively integrating artificial intelligence and innovation-led initiatives into its judicial framework. Key projects highlighted during the launch include:
- Athar: A legal awareness programme designed to educate the public.
- Preventive Justice for the Family: An AI-powered initiative aimed at proactively addressing family-related legal issues.
- Virtual Legal Translator: A system to overcome language barriers within the legal process.
- Tibyan: A virtual judicial assistant powered by AI to guide and support users.
These initiatives signal a clear focus on using advanced technology and preventive justice to build a more sophisticated and responsive judicial system.
