Keeta Drone Completes First Year of Revolutionizing Dubai’s Last-Mile Logistics

4 Min Read

Keeta Drone is celebrating the successful completion of its first year of commercial operations in Dubai, marking a significant milestone in the UAE’s journey to become a global leader in smart city logistics. The company has become a key player in reshaping urban mobility by offering a faster, safer, and more sustainable delivery alternative across the emirate.

Since its high-profile launch in December 2024, which saw His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum place the inaugural order, Keeta Drone has established a reliable network of rapid drone flights. The service currently covers key areas including Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) and Nad Al Sheba, with plans for continued expansion.

A Landmark Year for Urban Air Mobility

A pivotal moment in Keeta Drone’s journey was securing Dubai’s first Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) commercial drone delivery license in late 2024. This regulatory achievement was a significant step forward for the entire UAE drone ecosystem, enabling the company to expand its operations with multiple delivery routes across the city.

This progress aligns perfectly with the ambitious vision set by the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), which aims to cover 30 percent of the city with drone delivery services by 2026 and expand this to 70 percent within the next five years.

Engineered for the Emirates

A key factor in Keeta Drone’s success has been its ability to operate reliably in Dubai’s unique desert conditions. The company’s drones are specifically engineered to withstand the challenges of the local climate, including high winds, sand, and summer temperatures that can exceed 50°C, ensuring consistent service throughout the year.

Scaling Operations and Enhancing User Experience

Over the past year, Keeta Drone has focused on enhancing its service offering by launching a standalone mobile app. The platform allows customers to order food and other goods directly from popular local and international brands such as Halla Shawarma and Baskin-Robbins, with more partners expected to join in 2026.

“Completing one year of stable operations is a strong validation of both our technology and our commitment to the region,” said Junwei Yang, General Manager at Keeta Drone. “Over the past year, we have worked closely with regulators and partners to secure approvals, rigorously test our systems, and deliver a service customers can trust. Looking ahead, our priority is to scale responsibly, expand our service areas, and continue contributing to smarter, more sustainable urban logistics across the region.”
