Egypt is accelerating its green economy transition as NilePreneurs, a national initiative based at Nile University, successfully concluded the Pitching Day for the third cycle of its ClimaTech Accelerator. In partnership with ADCB Egypt, the event provided a platform for sustainable startups to showcase their business models and growth trajectories to a high-level panel of experts from the banking, industrial, and international development sectors.
Validating Sustainable Solutions For Market Readiness
The ClimaTech Accelerator is specifically designed to support startups tackling environmental challenges through innovative technology. During the Pitching Day, founders presented their validated business models, focusing on critical metrics such as scalability, practical implementation, and market readiness. The engagement with the judging panel allowed startups to receive direct feedback on how to align their green solutions with the current requirements of the Egyptian industrial and export markets.
A Multi Sectoral Judging Panel Of Industry Experts
The event featured a diverse panel of judges representing key stakeholders in the Egyptian economy, including Inès Kadri and Merham Yousri from ADCB Egypt, alongside representatives from the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE). The panel also included strategic leadership from the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the General Organization for Export and Import Control (GOEIC), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). This multi-sectoral involvement underscores the strategic importance of climate technology in Egypt’s broader industrial and sustainability roadmap.
Advancing Egypt’s Climate Tech Pipeline
As the third cycle progresses, the winning startups will be announced shortly to advance to the final stages of the program. These ventures are expected to play a pivotal role in Egypt’s efforts to localize green technology and enhance the competitiveness of local products in global markets. By providing a structured pathway from ideation to investment readiness, the ClimaTech Accelerator continues to be a cornerstone of the Egyptian startup ecosystem’s response to global environmental shifts.
