Orange Egypt, in a significant move to broaden digital inclusion, has launched its first Orange Digital Centre in Aswan, Upper Egypt. This initiative, developed in a strategic partnership with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and Aswan University, is designed to equip the region’s youth with critical digital skills and enhance their readiness for the modern labor market.
A Strategic Expansion Southward
The Aswan centre represents a key expansion of Orange Egypt’s corporate social responsibility strategy, building upon the proven success of its Cairo Digital Centre, which was established in 2021. The Cairo hub has already successfully trained thousands of individuals in essential digital technologies, creating a strong foundation for this new venture. By extending its reach to Upper Egypt, Orange is directly addressing the need for decentralized tech education and opportunity creation beyond the capital.
Bridging Academia and Industry
Hosting the new Digital Centre directly on the Aswan University campus is a deliberate move to foster a seamless integration between academic learning and the practical demands of the tech industry. This proximity allows for a dynamic exchange of knowledge, providing students with direct access to market-relevant training while enabling the curriculum to stay aligned with the evolving needs of employers.
Curriculum for the Modern Workforce
The programs offered at the Aswan centre are tailored to provide comprehensive, in-demand skills. The curriculum covers a wide spectrum of digital fields, including software development, embedded systems, data analysis, and cybersecurity.
Furthermore, the centre emphasizes hands-on learning and practical exposure through training in hardware and rapid prototyping, ensuring that graduates are not just theoretically knowledgeable but also practically adept.
Fostering Innovation Beyond the Classroom
Beyond formal training, the initiative is committed to cultivating a broader culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. The centre will offer advisory support, host networking events, and organize hackathons to promote creative problem-solving and active youth engagement. This public-private collaboration serves as a powerful model for advancing digital transformation and economic empowerment across Upper Egypt.
About Orange Digital Centre

The program is designed to empower young people and job seekers, enhancing their employability and preparing them for the future of work through hands-on learning, practical projects, and strategic partnerships with academic and development institutions.
