Humain, the Saudi state-backed AI venture, has officially acquired 211 plots of land across the Kingdom, marking a significant milestone in its ambitious roadmap to establish a vast network of data centers. According to CEO Tareq Amin, the strategy leverages Saudi Arabia’s large landmass to create geographic diversity and utilize multiple fiber-optic routes, effectively mitigating risks while enhancing national connectivity.
This large-scale land acquisition is a foundational step in Humain’s long-term vision to achieve a staggering 6GW of data center capacity within the next decade, positioning Saudi Arabia as a global leader in AI infrastructure.
Building a National AI Backbone
Construction is already underway on key facilities in Riyadh and Dammam. These initial data centers are slated to go live in the second quarter of 2026, each launching with an initial capacity of 100MW.
This distributed approach across the Kingdom is designed to ensure resilience and high-speed data processing capabilities, which are critical for supporting the next generation of AI applications and services.
Deploying World-Class Technology
To power its infrastructure, Humain has commenced the installation of Qualcomm’s full-stack AI racks. This deployment, one of the largest of its kind globally, features 1,024 of Qualcomm’s AI100 accelerators, which are specifically optimized for large-scale inferencing and advanced edge-to-cloud hybrid AI models.
Global software giant Adobe has been announced as the pioneer customer for these high-performance racks. Adobe will leverage Humain’s cutting-edge infrastructure to power its suite of generative AI tools and enhance its creative workflows for customers in the region and beyond.
A Network of Global AI Partnerships
Humain’s strategy is bolstered by a powerful network of strategic collaborations with global technology leaders and financial institutions:
- AWS: A partnership to establish a $5 billion “AI Zone” in Riyadh, which will feature 150,000 AI accelerators.
- STC Group (center3): A joint venture aimed at developing up to 1GW of AI-centric data center capacity.
- xAI: A collaboration with Elon Musk’s xAI to construct a 500MW facility, representing xAI’s first data center development outside the United States.
- National Infrastructure Fund: A crucial $1.2 billion financing agreement has been secured to support the development of the initial 250MW of capacity.
