Saudi Arabia-based edtech startup GAGA has secured $2.5 million in a Pre-Series A funding round led by Abu Dhabi-based Phoenix Venture Partners. With participation from regional family offices and individual investors, the fresh capital injection brings the company’s total funding to $4.2 million, positioning the platform to expand its live, interactive education model across the Kingdom.

Quick Facts

  • Secured $2.5M Pre-Series A from Phoenix Venture Partners.

  • Total funding hits $4.2M to scale interactive Arabic education.

  • Delivers over 1,000 live learning programs for K-12 students.

Shifting from Static Content to Interactive Education

Founded in 2021 by Abdullah Alkharsani and Eyad Alshabaan, GAGA targets Arabic-speaking students aged 4 to 18 with a strong emphasis on real-time engagement. Moving away from the traditional pre-recorded video format, the platform connects students directly with educators through gamified, live learning environments.

Currently, the startup offers more than 1,000 educational programs covering over 200 academic and skill-based subjects. This interactive approach provides a direct alternative to offline private tutoring and passive e-learning tools, focusing heavily on improving student participation and overall learning outcomes.

“This round marks an important step in GAGA’s mission to enable every family in Saudi Arabia to access high-quality live education,” said Abdullah Alkharsani, Co-Founder and CEO of GAGA.

Alkharsani noted that the partnership with Phoenix Venture Partners will allow the company to rapidly expand its teacher network, enhance its educational programs, and build out its technology to reach a broader student base.

Scaling AI-Driven Personalization in Saudi Arabia

A core component of the company’s growth strategy centers on artificial intelligence. GAGA is actively developing AI tools designed to analyze individual student performance, pinpoint specific knowledge gaps, and dynamically tailor educational pathways.

By combining human instruction with data-driven insights, the platform aims to deliver adaptive learning experiences that cater directly to individual student needs.

From an investor perspective, the model hits a critical market demand. Steve Khayyat, Founder and CEO of Phoenix Venture Partners, noted that GAGA addresses a clear gap in the market by offering culturally relevant, high-quality Arabic content backed by robust student-teacher interaction.

The startup will deploy the $2.5 million investment to scale its Arabic-language content library, upgrade its technology stack, and accelerate its AI integration to capture a larger share of Saudi Arabia’s fast-growing digital education sector.
