Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has received the Artificial Intelligence Ethics Label from the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) for its Nusuk AI service.
The recognition reflects the ministry’s efforts to apply AI ethics principles, strengthen governance and promote responsible use of the technology in digital services for pilgrims, according to the announcement.
Nusuk AI is integrated into the Nusuk application as a digital assistant. It answers pilgrims’ questions, directs them to relevant services and provides information on Hajj, Umrah and visits. The service also responds to religious inquiries using official sources and a knowledge base built around common questions and fatwas.
The service supports more than 180 languages and voice interaction. Since its launch, it has served more than 320,000 users and recorded over one million uses. During the past month, it handled more than 475,000 questions and responses.
The ministry said Nusuk AI is part of the wider Nusuk digital ecosystem, which offers more than 130 services, supports over 20 languages and serves more than 51 million users across more than 190 countries.
