The Future Investment Initiative (FII) Institute, the Saudi-based global non-profit foundation, has announced the launch of the Capital in Motion Index (CMI). Unveiled at FII PRIORITY Miami 2026, the initiative is built to monitor and analyze how strategic capital moves across borders, high-impact sectors, and emerging technologies to shape a resilient global economy.
Quick Facts
- Tracks capital in AI, energy, longevity, and urban innovation.
- Evaluates investments across six dimensions including mobility and inclusivity.
- Full index launch slated for Riyadh’s FII10 in October 2026.
Tracking Strategic Capital Across High-Impact Sectors
As the global economy undergoes rapid transformation, the Capital in Motion Index offers decision-makers a clear view into long-term capital deployment. The index monitors both announced and committed investments across multiple regions and asset classes.
The tool specifically targets sectors critical to future economic stability, including artificial intelligence, energy, longevity, food systems, and urban innovation.
Structured around six core dimensions—including capital mobility, quality, inclusivity, and future readiness—the CMI moves past traditional tracking metrics. It aims to assess not only where institutional capital is going but how effectively those funds contribute to long-term value creation.
Translating Global Dialogues Into Actionable Intelligence
The development of the CMI marks a structural shift for the FII Institute, signaling an intent to move beyond hosting high-level global dialogues toward delivering concrete, data-driven intelligence on global capital flows.
Richard Attias, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Acting CEO of FII Institute, highlighted the organization’s historical footprint as the foundation for this new tool.
“FII Institute has helped catalyze more than $170 billion in deals, positioning it as a leading global platform for investment,” Attias said during the press briefing. “This vantage point gives us a unique understanding of how capital moves, and how those movements shape the future of humanity.”
Attias added that the index transforms this accumulated market insight into a strategic instrument for global leaders, offering clarity and direction in a complex economic environment.
Road to Riyadh: Collaborative Rollout Strategy
Following its initial debut in Miami, the FII Institute will advance the next development phase of the CMI alongside select global partners. The objective is to refine the index’s methodology while building an accessible ecosystem that democratizes capital flow insights.
The complete launch of the Capital in Motion Index is scheduled for the 10th edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII10), which will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from October 26 to October 29, 2026.
