Foundever.org and Carerha have officially launched the first cohort of the Business Mama program in Casablanca, Morocco. The initiative is designed to support women looking to re-enter the job market or start their own ventures by providing targeted training in the digital economy.
Quick Facts
- Program: Business Mama Morocco
- Target Group: Women aged 25-45 after a career break
- First Cohort: 30 participants in Casablanca
- Focus Areas: Digital marketing, e-commerce, and AI
Bridging the Career Gap with Digital Skills
The program addresses a growing need in Morocco’s labor market for flexible career paths that allow women, particularly mothers who have been out of the professional sphere for years, to balance personal and professional commitments.
Fatna Abdou, HR Director at Foundever Morocco, explained that the program is tailored for women who wish to launch their own businesses. “The Business Mama Morocco program extends over three months and relies on remote training and practical workshops, led by Moroccan experts in digital marketing and entrepreneurship,” she stated.
Abdou emphasized that the goal extends beyond theoretical knowledge. “It includes practical support that helps women turn their ideas into real projects, providing them with the necessary tools to ensure sustainability and growth.”
Early Feedback Highlights Practical Impact
Participants are already seeing the benefits of the hands-on approach. Rachida Al-Asri, a beneficiary of the program, highlighted the initiative’s importance in developing skills, especially in artificial intelligence and e-commerce.
“I have already started working on my own project and aim to develop it with the knowledge I have gained during the training,” she noted, adding that such programs offer real opportunities for women to build their businesses and achieve professional independence.
A Proven Model Expanding from Egypt
The Moroccan launch builds on a successful track record in the region. Mariana Victorine, Chief Operations Officer at Foundever, confirmed that the program is part of an extended partnership with Carerha, following a successful deployment in Egypt that supported thousands of women.
“The Business Mama Morocco program focuses on equipping women with tools in artificial intelligence, digital marketing, and e-commerce, allowing them to develop their projects and increase their income, especially in the digital environment,” Victorine said. She added that there is a specific focus on mothers, who often face significant challenges when returning to the workforce despite possessing valuable skills.
Nationwide Expansion on the Horizon
While the initial cohort consists of 30 participants in Casablanca, the plan is to scale the initiative across the country. The program is set to expand to Rabat and Tangier by 2026 as part of a phased strategy to establish a national presence.
The initiative’s practical approach, combining training with direct mentorship, is geared toward fostering economic inclusion for women amid ongoing shifts in the labor market.
