King Saud University Bolsters Saudi Innovation Ecosystem with National Exhibition

King Saud University has launched its 2026 World Creativity and Innovation Day exhibition, an event designed to connect innovators with key national authorities supporting Saudi Arabia’s research and development agenda. Organized by the university’s Entrepreneurship Institute and its Innovation Center, the three-day event takes place from April 21-23 on the main university campus.

Fostering Collaboration Across the Kingdom’s R&D Landscape

The exhibition aims to provide a platform that brings together innovators, researchers, and key institutional backers to create sustainable impact. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Yazid bin Abdulmalik Al Al-Sheikh, the university’s Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research.

It features the participation of several key national bodies, including the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, the Research, Development and Innovation Authority (RDIA), the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA), and the Digital Government Authority. The collaboration underscores a focused effort to align academic innovation with the Kingdom’s strategic development goals.

A Platform for Economic and Social Impact

Dr. Khalid Al-Husseini, Executive Director of the Entrepreneurship Institute at King Saud University, stated that the Innovation Center was established to serve all innovators from within and outside the university.

“The center enables innovators to transform their ideas into economic, social, or any other impact that could benefit the Kingdom and achieve national targets,” Al-Husseini explained.

He emphasized that creativity and innovation are fundamental pillars of national development and key drivers for generating solutions and enhancing Saudi Arabia’s competitiveness across various fields.
