Bahrain FinTech Bay and European University Partner to Cultivate FinTech Talent in the Kingdom

Bahrain FinTech Bay and the European University of Bahrain have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to create new training and innovation opportunities for students. The partnership is designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and the practical demands of Bahrain’s growing financial technology sector.

Bridging Academia and Industry

Under the new agreement, students from the European University of Bahrain will gain access to a range of practical learning opportunities. The collaboration will focus on developing internship programs, on-the-job training, and collaborative applied projects.

The partnership also includes organizing field visits to Bahrain FinTech Bay and hosting industry speakers to give students and faculty direct exposure to the professional environment. The two organizations will also exchange knowledge and best practices to develop case studies and projects that reflect real-world industry challenges, integrating a problem-solving approach into the university’s curriculum.

The MoU was officially signed by Dr. Reem Al Buainain, Vice President of the European University of Bahrain, and Ms. Suzy Al Zeerah, Chief Operating Officer of Bahrain FinTech Bay.

Building a Sustainable Talent Pipeline

“This partnership with Bahrain FinTech Bay is an important step for the European University of Bahrain in strengthening the connection between our academic programs and the needs of the job market,” stated Dr. Reem Al Buainain. “We believe that providing practical training opportunities and direct interaction with experts contributes to building a generation of graduates capable of competing and contributing effectively to the national economy.”

She added, “Through this memorandum, we will work to expand the opportunities available to our students to acquire professional and applied skills, participate in real-world projects, and benefit from Bahrain FinTech Bay’s expertise in one of the most developed and growing sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region.”

Ms. Suzy Al Zeerah commented on the strategic importance of the collaboration. “Human capital is the foundation of any successful FinTech ecosystem. Educational partnerships are a cornerstone of this mission,” she said. “Through this partnership with the European University of Bahrain, we are opening direct pathways for students to engage with the FinTech sector, gain practical experience, professional exposure, and networks that will shape their careers and enhance Bahrain’s position as a regional hub for financial innovation.”
