UAE’s G42 Finalizes Landmark Deal to Build 8-Exaflop AI Supercomputer in India

3 Min Read

Abu Dhabi-based technology group G42 has formalized the commercial framework with the Government of India to deploy Condor Galaxy India, a powerful 8-exaflop AI supercomputing cluster. The move marks a significant expansion of the UAE-India technology partnership and positions G42 as a key infrastructure provider for India’s national AI strategy.

Quick Facts

  • 8-exaflop AI supercomputing capacity.
  • Built with 64 Cerebras CS-3 systems.
  • G42 to manage installation and operations.

A Strategic Tech Partnership Witnessed by State Leaders

The agreement was formalized in a high-profile exchange between H.E. Mansoor Al Mansoori, CEO of G42 International, and Mr. Vikram Misri, Foreign Secretary of India. The ceremony took place during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official state visit to Abu Dhabi and was witnessed by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the Indian Prime Minister, underscoring the project’s strategic importance to both nations.

The deal builds on a digital infrastructure Memorandum of Understanding signed between the UAE and India in 2024.

“India is one of the world’s great innovation economies,” said His Excellency Mansoor Al Mansoori. “Deploying an instance of G42’s Intelligence Grid at this scale in such an important geography is what AI-native transformation looks like in practice. We are delivering infrastructure that converts energy and compute into sovereign governed nation-scale intelligence.”

Powering India’s Sovereign AI Ambitions

The Condor Galaxy India supercomputer is set to become one of the largest AI compute clusters in the country, providing a foundational asset for India’s sovereign AI goals.

Under the framework, G42 will partner with India’s Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) to handle the installation, deployment, operations, and maintenance of the system. The cluster is expected to support a new wave of joint research and development in critical sectors like health, genomics, energy, and geospatial analytics for researchers and institutions from both countries.

Cerebras Partnership Extends Condor Galaxy Network

The supercomputer will be powered by 64 Cerebras CS-3 systems, which are built on the company’s advanced wafer-scale engine technology. The deployment in India represents a major extension of the strategic partnership between G42 and Cerebras.

Together, the two companies already operate several supercomputing clusters in the United States through the Condor Galaxy network. This new installation extends that high-performance compute footprint into one of the world’s fastest-growing technology markets. Cerebras recently listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker CBRS.
