The New Valley Governorate has announced the launch of the “Own Your Business” initiative, a new training program designed to strengthen financial inclusion and entrepreneurial skills among local youth. The program is a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Local Development and the Sanabel El-Kheir Foundation for Development, operating under the umbrella of the “Hayah Karima” (Decent Life) national project.

Strategic Partnerships to Power Youth Empowerment
Overseen by the governorate’s Population Unit, the initiative is backed by key strategic partners including Banque Misr, the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA), and the “Mashrouak” (Your Project) initiative. According to Hanan Magdy, Governor of New Valley, the program aims to provide economic support and skill development for young people in the region.
Building a Foundation in Financial Literacy and Project Management
The training sessions focus on core concepts of financial inclusion and entrepreneurship. Participants learn about the importance of saving, the mechanics of managing small-scale projects, and how to utilize modern banking services offered by the state. The curriculum is designed to equip a new generation of entrepreneurs with the ability to manage their ventures efficiently.
Driving Digital Payments with Free Meeza Cards
To further promote the use of digital financial services, the program includes the free distribution of “Meeza” debit cards to all attendees. This practical step is intended to improve access to modern financing tools and support the participants’ future projects.
First Phase Rolls Out Until July 2026
The initial phase of the “Own Your Business” initiative is targeting youth in the Kharga and Paris centers. The training courses will continue to run until the end of July 2026, offering sustained support and raising awareness about financing programs available from both official and non-official entities.
