Core42 Taps Open Innovation AI to Enhance its Sovereign AI Platform

4 Min Read

Abu Dhabi-based Core42, a G42 company focused on sovereign cloud and AI infrastructure, has announced a new collaboration with Open Innovation AI. The partnership will integrate Open Innovation AI’s sovereign AI stack into Core42’s offerings, making its AI applications accessible through the Compass API platform.

Quick Facts

  • Core42 partners with Open Innovation AI.
  • AI apps accessible via Compass API platform.
  • Focus on sovereign AI for enterprises.

Unlocking Sovereign AI for Enterprises

The integration aims to give organizations more flexibility in adopting AI applications within governed, scalable, and sovereign-ready frameworks. Core42’s Compass API Platform provides developers and enterprise teams with secure access to a range of open and closed-source generative AI models through a unified API.

Deployed via Core42’s AI Cloud, the Compass platform is built with data residency and jurisdictional control in mind. It operates in a fully managed environment that lets organizations run and scale their AI workloads across different compute infrastructures.

A Multi-Layered Integration

Through this collaboration, Open Innovation AI Apps will be deployed natively on Core42’s tenant and offered to customers as a SaaS solution, fully integrated with Compass. For customers with on-premises needs, the partnership will also provide access to Open Innovation AI’s broader sovereign stack, including its Cluster Manager (OICM) and Kubernetes (OIK8) solutions.

Dr. Abed Benaichouche, Co-founder and CEO of Open Innovation AI, commented, “Sovereign AI is becoming a strategic requirement, not a technology choice. Core42 has established the infrastructure foundation that enables nations and enterprises to retain full control over their data, models, and operations. Together, we bring an end-to-end AI stack that enables secure, scalable deployment across multi-silicon environments, ensuring the level of performance, flexibility, and independence that modern governments and enterprises now require.”

The integration is designed to support a wide spectrum of enterprise needs. Companies already on Core42’s infrastructure can expand their AI capabilities through Compass, while newcomers can access agentic enterprise AI apps in a production-ready environment.

Sherif Tawfik, Chief Business Officer at Core42, said, “Compass is designed to provide enterprises with a secure and scalable way to access models, tools, and AI applications through a unified platform. The integration of Open Innovation AI Apps reflects our broader approach to enabling a growing ecosystem of technology providers to make their capabilities available to Core42 customers.”

From Experiment to Production

This move adds to Core42’s growing portfolio of technology integrations across its Compass and AI Cloud platforms. It underscores a strategic focus on helping organizations transition their AI projects from experimentation into real-world, production-scale use with the necessary performance, control, and operational consistency.
