Omani managed services and cloud provider Oman Data Park has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Broadband Systems Corporation to co-invest in and develop a new AI-ready data center in Rwanda. Crucially, the data center will be “AI-ready,” positioning Rwanda to handle emerging technologies, cloud services, and the data-intensive applications that power modern artificial intelligence. This future-focused design addresses the growing need for robust infrastructure to support the next wave of technological development.
Government Backing for Digital Ambitions
The agreement was signed in the presence of key Rwandan officials, including Minister of ICT & Innovation Musoni Paula and Minister of State for ICT Yves Iradukunda. Antoine Sebera, CEO of the Rwanda Information Society Authority (RISA), also witnessed the signing, underscoring the project’s alignment with the country’s national digital transformation goals.
