The Government of Ajman has completed what it describes as the UAE’s first government transaction using agentic AI, renewing a trade licence through a proactive digital service model.
Developed by the Department of Digital Ajman, the service alerts customers before their trade licences expire and directs them to an intelligent assistant in the AjmanOne government app. If required, it coordinates commercial lease renewal with the Ajman Municipality and Planning Department before continuing with the trade licence renewal.
The system is designed to identify and manage the steps a customer needs without waiting for a request, while working across existing and future digital channels. The Department of Digital Ajman said its operation depends on governance, reliable data, secure system integration and human oversight where necessary.
The initiative is part of the Ajman Artificial Intelligence Programme, which follows a “People First” approach and aims to launch 100 AI initiatives across the eight pillars of Ajman Vision 2030. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, called the service a practical step under the programme.
