The Hashemite University has launched the first cycle of its student venture incubation program through four agreements signed with participating student projects. The initiative is led by the university’s Innovation and Creative Projects Center in partnership with Zain Innovation Campus (ZINC).
Each selected project can receive financial support of up to JOD4K, alongside training, technical and financial assistance, mentoring, access to experts and investors, and intellectual property consultations. The program is designed to help students turn prototypes into marketable products.
The incubation period runs for one year and may conclude with the project’s graduation, the establishment of a startup, or the signing of licensing or commercial investment agreements. The university will also provide equipped workspace, academic supervision and ongoing follow-up. Participating teams must attend training, submit progress reports, use the funding exclusively for their projects and begin startup registration procedures.
The four projects are ECO-AFO, which is developing sustainable composite-material foot and ankle braces for children; Hired.jo, an AI-powered CV and job-search application; ProSim, an Arabic AI platform simulating workplace tasks for students; and Digital Pharmacy Simulation, which uses AI and digital simulation to support pharmacy education and clinical skills.
The projects were selected through a competitive evaluation process, according to the university. It added that the program could eventually support the creation of business accelerators and startups serving local and regional markets.
