Syria’s electronic platform for establishing companies received 65 registration applications in less than a month after launching on July 7, according to Abdulmajid Al-Abdo, director of the Companies Directorate at the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
Thirteen companies have completed the registration process and reached the acceptance stage, while the remaining applications are still being reviewed or completing required procedures.
The applications include 33 companies headquartered in Damascus, 13 in Rural Damascus, three in Aleppo and 16 across other provinces. By legal structure, 43 are limited liability companies, 21 are single-person limited liability companies and one is a private joint-stock company.
Al-Abdo said initial registration can be completed within five working days when applicants submit accurate and complete documents that meet legal requirements.
The ministry is developing the platform to support remote identity verification and simplify initial registration. Planned upgrades include the remote issuance of commercial registers, electronic links with relevant government bodies, and online requests to amend company data after incorporation, except where in-person procedures are required by law.
More than 10,000 companies, including individual commercial registrations and several corporate structures, were registered in Syria during the first half of 2026.
