UAE telecom and digital services provider du has published a whitepaper outlining how operators can build AI-native, autonomous and monetizable 6G networks.
The Intelligence Network: A 6G Blueprint for Telcos was developed with the Digital Future Institute at Khalifa University. It combines academic research with findings from du’s live network trials in Mohamed Bin Zayed City, Abu Dhabi.
The upper 6GHz trials achieved outdoor coverage of up to 500 metres and peak downlink speeds approaching 1.5Gbps using existing 5G macro infrastructure. According to the company, the results are among the first regional validations of upper-mid-band spectrum performance at scale.
The blueprint presents 6G as a software-defined platform capable of sensing, predicting, deciding and acting in real time. It highlights technologies including intent-based orchestration, Network Digital Twins and Telecom World Models, while positioning the Radio Access Network as an intelligence and sensing hub rather than only a connectivity layer.
It also identifies potential revenue streams for operators, including AI-powered operations, enterprise digital twins, autonomous AI agents and outcome-based service guarantees. The roadmap builds on du’s 5G-Advanced network and its commitment to the TM Forum Autonomous Networks Manifesto.
