Qatari telecommunications provider Ooredoo is committing about $800M to launch and develop Zankore, an AI computing and neocloud platform being built with Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, Nokia and Nvidia.
Ooredoo will hold a 49% stake as Zankore’s founding shareholder and lead investor, according to the company. The initial investment is expected to generate approximately $600M in cumulative EBITDA during the platform’s first five years, based on current estimates.
Zankore will initially be developed in Indonesia before expanding across Southeast Asia. The platform is targeting 1 gigawatt of NVIDIA DSX AI Factory capacity and is expected to deliver around 200 megawatts of AI capacity in the first half of 2027.
It will use NVIDIA DSX MaxLPS technology, which can increase computing output by up to 40% within the same power budget, according to the announcement.
The investment marks Ooredoo’s push into Southeast Asia’s growing AI infrastructure market as the Qatar-based group expands its computing ambitions.
