Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has approved its strategy for 2026-2030, marking a shift from rapid expansion toward greater efficiency and long-term sustainable value, according to the announcement.

The strategy focuses on building competitive local economic ecosystems aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, while increasing private-sector participation in development. Six priority ecosystems are identified: tourism and entertainment, urban development, advanced industries, logistics and manufacturing, clean energy and water infrastructure, and NEOM.

PIF’s investments will be managed across three portfolios. The Vision Portfolio will support integrated domestic ecosystems. The Strategic Investments Portfolio will focus on improving the performance of key assets and developing portfolio companies into global leaders. The Financial Investments Portfolio will target sustainable returns through direct and indirect investments in global markets.

The fund said its priorities include stronger integration across portfolios, improved risk-adjusted returns, diversified funding sources, and greater operational efficiency through artificial intelligence and innovation.

PIF Governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan said the fund had increased assets under management sixfold to SAR3.4 trillion by 2025. The announcement also said PIF’s cumulative contribution to Saudi Arabia’s non-oil GDP was close to 10% in 2024.
