The 63rd Damascus International Fair is set to open on 26 August at the Damascus Fairgrounds, with nearly 1,000 companies, institutions and other entities expected from around 60 countries.
According to the Syrian Establishment for Exhibitions and International Markets, participants will include local, Arab and international companies, government bodies, chambers of commerce, business councils, investment organisations and craft businesses.
The event will feature official participation from Germany, including a pavilion with 13 exhibitors, as well as a Turkish presence commissioned by Turkey’s Ministry of Trade. It will also be included in the programme of the Saudi Export Development Authority, according to the announcement.
The fair will host the first Damascus Economic Forum, bringing together economic, government and international figures. The first three days will focus on businesspeople, investors and economic organisations, with meetings aimed at developing investment and partnerships. The final six days will include public, cultural and social activities.
The event’s organisers said the expanded international participation is expected to create new channels for trade and investment. The previous edition drew 800 local and international companies from more than 20 countries.
