Emirati entrepreneur Maryam Mohammed Al Marri has launched Boom, a delivery and logistics platform developed after her participation in the Abdullah Al Ghurair Foundation’s TechUp and Nomu Women programs.
Based in Al Ain, Al Marri created the platform to address high delivery costs faced by small and home-based businesses. Boom connects small businesses directly with independent delivery freelancers, helping companies access more flexible logistics while creating additional income opportunities for families and young people, according to the announcement.
The app won the “Best Impact Application of 2025” award at an app innovation competition held in Dubai.
Al Marri said the programs helped her build expertise in user experience design and management. She used those skills to develop the platform’s structure and focus on integrating local community members into a service network operating from Al Ain and serving sectors across the UAE.
The initiative reflects the foundation’s focus on education and technology programs designed to support entrepreneurship, workforce development and the UAE’s knowledge economy.
