Moroccan startups raised $108.44M across 48 funding rounds in 2025, marking the highest annual funding total recorded by the country’s startup ecosystem, according to the Morocco Startup Ecosystem 2025 report from Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.
Funding increased from $94.96M across 40 deals in 2024 and $33.26M in 2023. The broader deal activity also points to a wider distribution of capital: the three largest rounds accounted for 33.66% of total funding in 2025, down from 64.7% a year earlier.
Early-stage activity remained strong, with 18 pre-seed rounds and 17 seed rounds. Pre-Series A deals rose from two in 2024 to seven in 2025, bringing the stage’s total funding to $20.82M. Series A funding reached $51.41M across six rounds. After excluding an exceptional 2024 travel technology deal, that represents more than a threefold increase.
The ecosystem still has a clear gap at the next stage, with no publicly announced Series B round in 2025. Exits also remain limited, although ORA Technologies acquired Cathedis, Logidoo acquired Kamtar, and Cash Plus listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
Casablanca accounted for 28 of the 48 rounds and 75.12% of disclosed capital. International investors participated in 56.25% of deals and contributed 67.92% of total funding. The report covered 98 founders across 47 funded startups, with women representing 15.31% of founders.
