Egypt’s Yalla Sahel initiative, in partnership with TikTok for Business and RiseUp, is holding a two-day event on August 13 and 14 to support startups, entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses.

Held under the sponsorship of Egypt’s ministries of Investment and Foreign Trade, Planning and Economic Development, and Finance, the event focuses on digital economy tools, content creation and marketing through online platforms.

The first day took place at G HOTEL in Sidi Abdelrahman, bringing together government officials, business leaders and representatives from TikTok and RiseUp. The agenda included a roundtable on entrepreneurship and the digital economy, alongside workshops on content production, digital marketing and TikTok for Business solutions.

The second day is dedicated to one-on-one advisory sessions with TikTok for Business experts. These sessions will help startups and SMEs set up advertising accounts, plan marketing campaigns and use the platform’s tools to strengthen their digital presence.

Participants included RiseUp founder and CEO Abdelhamid Sharara, TikTok’s North Africa head of public policy and government relations Wael Ezzat, and several leaders from the Yalla Sahel initiative and private sector companies.
