The Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund, affiliated with Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity, has delivered two entrepreneurship training sessions for beneficiaries of the Takaful and Karama social protection programme in Assiut Governorate.

The sessions were held in the Abnoub and Al-Qusiya centres in partnership with Banque Misr and the Upper Egypt Development Association. They formed part of the Smart Microfinance project, funded by Banque Misr, and the broader economic empowerment programme.

The training covered how to select and develop a business idea, assess market needs, prepare a business plan, calculate costs and pricing, and apply basic marketing and financial management principles.

According to the announcement, the initiative is designed to prepare participants to access available financing for income-generating microenterprises. It combines finance with training, technical support and other forms of preparation to help beneficiaries turn ideas into viable projects and strengthen their economic independence.
