Sharjah Builds Innovation Ecosystem Around Sustainable Technologies

2 Min Read

Sharjah is expanding its innovation ecosystem to help develop, test and commercialize technologies in water, food, energy and resource management.

Led by Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SRTI Park), the ecosystem connects research and development, startups, investors, industry and government entities. Its focus spans mobility, infrastructure, advanced manufacturing, construction and digital technologies.

Projects linked to the ecosystem include uSky Transport’s suspended transport system, conductive concrete, green hydrogen, and Maxbyte’s use of artificial intelligence, robotics and digital tools for industrial transformation. Other initiatives include data centres, digital infrastructure and a 3D-printed house.

SRTI Park is also supporting activity in precision agriculture, AI-enabled farming, smart water management, desalination, renewable energy, hydrogen, energy storage and circular economy technologies. The goal is to help startups validate solutions, run pilots and connect with customers, partners and investors.

As part of this effort, Sharjah Next – Sustainability will take place on October 28 and 29, 2026, at SPARK. The event will bring together researchers, businesses, government entities, investors and technology providers, with sessions focused on food security, water, environmental solutions, clean energy, sustainable finance and emerging technologies.

The programme is designed to support technology transfer, pilot projects, collaboration and investment across Sharjah’s sustainability-focused sectors.
