The Catalyst has opened applications for its third cohort, scheduled to begin in January 2027. The program is seeking early-stage startups developing solutions to climate, sustainability and other critical environmental challenges.
Backed by Masdar City and bp, The Catalyst is a clean-tech accelerator and early-stage investment platform based in Masdar City, Abu Dhabi. Its focus includes sustainability, clean energy and climate technology, with a mandate for participating companies to establish themselves in Masdar City and expand into the wider MENA market.
According to the program website, support can include investment through SAFE notes or direct investment, office and laboratory space, licensing and registration assistance, mentorship, marketing support and pilot project opportunities. The program works with pre-seed and seed-stage startups.
The Catalyst said five founders from an earlier cohort secured funding, expert guidance and opportunities to test their solutions in the UAE. Applications for the January 2027 cohort close on November 30.
