Nvidia is in talks to potentially acquire South Korean AI chipmaker Rebellions, according to Bloomberg, in a deal that could deepen the Saudi-backed startup’s role in the global AI infrastructure race.
Rebellions develops data-center chips for AI inference and reasoning workloads. Aramco’s Waed Ventures invested $15M in the company in July 2024 as part of its expansion into Saudi Arabia.
The startup raised $250M in a 2025 Series C round at a $1.4B valuation, with Samsung, SK Hynix and ARM among the participants. Its total funding has since exceeded $850M, while its valuation reached $2.3B after a $400M funding round in March.
Rebellions is also preparing for an initial public offering. A potential acquisition could affect that plan, while giving Nvidia additional capabilities across AI computing, particularly as demand grows for inference and reasoning alongside training.
The company serves customers in Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Japan and the United States. For Saudi Arabia, the potential transaction highlights how local and regional capital is backing companies building critical AI infrastructure and connecting the Kingdom to global technology markets.
