Mansoura University in Egypt has launched a student hackathon focused on improving waste management on campus, with an emphasis on innovation, sustainability and green entrepreneurship.
The competition is open to university students participating in teams of three to five members. Teams are expected to submit practical ideas for managing campus waste and turning it into resources with economic and environmental value, according to the announcement.
Eligible project areas include smart technologies, engineering innovation, creative design and green business models. The university said the initiative aims to encourage students to develop applicable solutions that support a more sustainable campus.
The application deadline is August 31, 2026, while judging is scheduled for September 2, 2026.
