Qualcomm has soft-launched a new office in Riyadh as the US semiconductor company expands its artificial intelligence business in Saudi Arabia. The launch took place on 30 August 2026 and was attended by Wassim Chourbaji, President of Qualcomm EMEA, and Saeed AlDobas, Executive Vice President of AI Infrastructure and Cloud at HUMAIN.
The office follows the opening of a Qualcomm AI Engineering Centre at HUMAIN’s Riyadh headquarters, strengthening a partnership focused on AI data centres, cloud infrastructure and edge computing.
HUMAIN has deployed 1,024 Qualcomm Cloud AI 100 accelerators as the first phase of a data centre planned to reach 200 megawatts of capacity in 2026. Adobe is its first customer, according to the announcement. Qualcomm’s AI200 and AI250 accelerators are also set to be integrated into the facility, with the AI250 expected to launch from 2027.
Qualcomm’s regional strategy spans Snapdragon-powered edge computing, the Dragonwing industrial IoT platform and its Dragonfly data centre portfolio. The company also signed a memorandum of understanding with Aramco Digital in May 2025 to develop industrial edge AI applications across Aramco’s 5G network, including predictive maintenance and visual anomaly detection.
The Riyadh office adds to Qualcomm’s growing in-region engineering and commercial presence as it moves beyond mobile chips into broader AI infrastructure.
