Syria’s Ministry of Awqaf has launched Masjidak, a digital platform designed to help users find nearby mosques and access information about their services, activities and announcements.

The official app provides an interactive mosque map, location-based search, prayer times and filters for services such as ablution facilities, women’s prayer areas, libraries and parking. Users can also view religious lessons, sermons, Quran sessions and other mosque events.

Masjidak includes calendars for religious occasions, notifications for activities and official announcements, and tools to follow preferred mosques. The platform also covers announcements from the ministry, provincial directorates and local mosques.

According to Hussam Zina, a software systems analyst at the ministry’s digital transformation department, he managed the project from requirements definition and coordination through design, development, testing and launch. Zina said the next phase will focus on measuring impact, monitoring usage and continuously improving the user experience.

The app is available on Android and iOS, with the ministry presenting it as a unified digital channel for mosque information and services across Syria.
