Qatar’s Social Development Center (Nama) has opened the third edition of its Social Entrepreneurship Award, offering up to QAR 200,000 for projects and ideas addressing community challenges.
The award is open to young people, entrepreneurs and social enterprise founders across two categories: Best Social Entrepreneurship Idea, with a QAR 100,000 prize, and Best Existing Social Enterprise Project, which carries QAR 200,000.
A separate competition for secondary schools offers total prizes of QAR 60,000 across boys’ and girls’ categories. The previous edition attracted entries from 31 schools.
Shortlisted participants in this year’s award will take part in an intensive training programme designed to help them understand social challenges, refine their solutions and develop more practical, sustainable and measurable projects, according to the announcement.
Entries will be assessed on factors including the clarity of the challenge, relevance of the proposed solution, expected impact, feasibility, sustainability, scalability and measurable results.
Nama launched the award in 2024 under the umbrella of the Qatar Foundation for Social Work. Applications for the third edition can be submitted through Nama’s official website, with updates shared on its social media channels.
