Saudi Arabia has launched an AI Center of Excellence at LEAP 2026 in Riyadh, bringing together government and private-sector partners to build national digital skills and accelerate the practical use of artificial intelligence.
The initiative was launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, through the Digital Sector Skills Council, in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Microsoft and Gulf Intelligence.
According to the announcement, the center will help professionals and organizations adopt AI across different sectors, improve productivity and turn technological innovation into measurable economic value. It also supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 goals by strengthening national capabilities and encouraging the use of digital infrastructure, data and local talent.
The center will produce three specialized papers covering AI’s future and economic applications. It will also host dialogue sessions with public- and private-sector leaders on AI’s impact on the economy, the future of work, data infrastructure and the skills needed to improve Saudi Arabia’s regional and global competitiveness.
The initiative is part of the Kingdom’s broader efforts to deploy AI across development sectors and advance its digital transformation.
