The Asfari Foundation has opened applications for its Organisational Development (OD) Grants, offering up to £25,000 to civil society organisations working in Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine and Syria.
The one-year grants include financial and technical support, with the possibility of an extension if the partnership proves impactful. They are open to small and medium-sized not-for-profits, social enterprises and mission-led companies, with organisations holding average annual budgets of £100K to £750K prioritised.
Eligible applicants must be locally based or led organisations serving communities in the targeted countries and work in areas including independent media, governance, active citizenship, innovation, entrepreneurship, education and lifelong learning, or gender and feminism. Organisations working at the intersection of climate or environment and innovation or entrepreneurship can also apply.
The process has two stages: a concept note followed by a detailed proposal for shortlisted applicants. Applicants will also undergo assessment and due diligence meetings. The full process typically takes three to four months.
Applications close on 17 September. The Foundation will hold an online webinar about the concept note stage on 9 September at 1:00pm London time. Applications must be submitted online, while answers may be provided in Arabic even though the form is in English.
