Bahraini startup Wajba has reached the top spot on Bahrain’s App Store across all categories, according to an announcement by Innovate for Bahrain.
Wajba operates a mobile app that connects consumers with local restaurants, cafés and bakeries selling surplus fresh food, helping tackle food waste.
The startup is part of the Innovate for Bahrain community and is also an alumna of Women in Tech Bahrain. It secured second place at the Demo Day for the programme’s sixth cohort.
Wajba is listed as an internet marketplace platform with a team size of two to 10 employees.
