The 63rd Damascus International Fair concluded on September 4 with more than 1.4 million visitors and preliminary economic output exceeding 150 billion Syrian pounds, equivalent to about $1 billion, according to SANA.

Held under the slogan “Syria Shines Again,” the fair brought together nearly 1,000 local, Arab and international entities from around 60 countries. Organizers said the event shifted from a traditional product showcase toward a platform for business, investment and partnerships.

The first three days focused on business leaders, investors and official delegations, with companies and government bodies holding business-to-business and business-to-government meetings. The resulting contracts, memoranda of understanding, and production and supply agreements covered industry, agriculture, transport, water, energy, infrastructure, tourism and logistics.

Among the announced initiatives was an industrial project package in Hasiya city valued at an estimated $500 million, alongside projects in Bab al-Hawa, Sheikh Najjar, Hama and Raqqa.

The fair also launched the Damascus World Economic Forum, designed as a year-round platform connecting government, the private sector, investors and economic institutions around future projects and partnerships. The event featured renewed participation from Arab and international companies, including the return of Germany’s official pavilion after more than four decades.
