Vodafone Egypt has partnered with UK-headquartered technology group Cassava Technologies to launch Egypt’s first AI factory, giving government entities and businesses access to locally hosted GPU-as-a-Service.
The facility uses NVIDIA GPUs and sovereign AI infrastructure, with data hosted and processed inside Egypt. According to the announcement, the setup is designed to support local regulatory compliance, strengthen cybersecurity and give organisations greater control over data protection.
The partnership also includes access to NVIDIA training and enablement programmes to help organisations develop AI capabilities and deploy solutions.
The project is part of Vodafone Egypt’s plan to invest more than EGP 20 billion ($300M) during the current fiscal year. The company said this builds on investments exceeding EGP 125 billion ($2.45B) in Egypt over 28 years.
For Cassava, the launch expands its AI infrastructure presence into Egypt. The group operates across Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and the United States through businesses including Cassava AI, Liquid Intelligent Technologies and Africa Data Centres, serving customers in 94 countries.
