Assiut has completed the second phase of a training program focused on entrepreneurship and financial inclusion, reaching around 1,000 young people across five villages in Egypt’s Al-Fateh district.
The sessions, held from September 3 to 21 under the “Own Your Business” initiative, covered Bani Zaid, Bani Mur, Basra, Al-Wasta and Arab Al-Matir. The program aims to promote self-employment and help participants develop and manage small and medium-sized businesses.
Participants aged 21 to 45 received free banking services and Banque Misr Meeza cards. They were also introduced to available financing programs, application requirements and procedures for accessing funding and project support, according to the announcement.
Training topics included financial management, business planning, feasibility studies and assessing market needs. The initiative was implemented under a cooperation agreement between Egypt’s Ministry of Local Development and Sonaa El Kheir Foundation for Development, with Banque Misr as a strategic partner.
The program also involved local government representatives, religious and community figures, and civil society organisations.
