Oman’s Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises Development, known as Riyada, has launched a five-day “Entrepreneur Readiness” training program in Musandam for 30 academics and administrators.
Held at Riyada’s facility in the governorate, the program aims to strengthen participants’ entrepreneurial knowledge and skills so they can promote entrepreneurship within their workplaces, including academic and government institutions.
According to the announcement, the training covers entrepreneurial thinking, opportunity discovery, idea development, project planning and the different stages of an entrepreneur’s journey. Participants will also learn about challenges faced by entrepreneurs and how to address them.
The program includes an overview of Riyada’s services, initiatives and programs in Musandam, with the goal of helping participants explain the support available to entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized businesses at different stages of development.
Manea bin Abdullah Al Shahi, director of SME development in Musandam, said academic institutions and government bodies are important partners in building the governorate’s entrepreneurship ecosystem. He added that participants will help share information about Riyada’s programs with students, employees and community members.
