UAE Firms Lead Global AI Agent Deployment, But Struggle With Containment

2 Min Read

UAE companies are deploying AI agents at a faster pace than organisations in any other market surveyed, but many lack the systems needed to contain problematic agents quickly, according to Dataiku’s Global AI Confessions Report: CIO Edition 2026.

The report, based on Harris Poll research among 685 CIOs across eight countries, found that 62% of UAE CIOs have more than 50 AI agents running in production. Another 15% have more than 500, compared with a global average of 9%.

UAE organisations also reported the highest rate of early detection. Sixty-two percent said problematic agent behaviour was identified before causing customer, financial, compliance or operational damage. However, only 5% said they could reliably identify and contain an agent across environments within one to two hours, compared with 10% globally.

Forty-five percent said containment would take between 24 and 48 hours, while 23% expected it to take two days or more. Only 18% reported having a unified view of agents across platforms, and 12% said lifecycle management was standardised.

The findings also show rising pressure on technology leaders. All UAE CIOs surveyed said their boards are demanding clearer AI returns than in 2025, while 93% said their CEOs have linked job security to AI outcomes.
