The UAE’s e-commerce market reached $11.5 billion in 2025, more than double its 2020 value of $4.8 billion, according to a report by EZDubai Logistics Hub and Euromonitor International.
The market grew at a 19% compound annual growth rate, supported by changing consumer habits, wider digital payment adoption and improved logistics. Growth is expected to moderate to 9.9% annually between 2026 and 2030, taking the market to $18.3 billion.
Online sales accounted for 15.7% of UAE retail spending in 2025. That share is expected to exceed 20% by 2030 as consumers move more spending online and retailers expand their digital operations.
Apparel and footwear was the largest e-commerce category last year, generating $3.10 billion, followed by consumer electronics and home care. Consumer appliances are forecast to see strong growth, driven by demand for premium products and frequent household upgrades.
The report also found that the wider MENASA e-commerce market grew from $63.2 billion in 2020 to $141.4 billion in 2025, and is projected to reach $247.6 billion by 2030.
Artificial intelligence, personalised shopping, quick commerce, social commerce, digital wallets, buy-now-pay-later services and embedded finance are expected to shape the next phase of growth.
