Egypt’s Climate-Tech Expo brought together 42 Egyptian climate-tech startups, investors, private-sector companies and government officials from Egypt, Europe, the Middle East and Africa to explore partnerships and financing opportunities.
Held in Cairo, the event was organised by the Ministry of Industry in collaboration with the Private Sector Innovation project, implemented by several companies and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) in Egypt, with funding from the German government.
Manal Awad, Egypt’s Minister of Local Development and Environment, said the expo supports sustainable industrial development, climate innovation and investment as part of the country’s green transition.
Discussions covered low-emission mobility, industrial transformation, agritech and food systems, digital solutions for industry and environmental monitoring, waste management and the circular economy, and renewable energy.
The event also featured startup showcases, investor meetings, panel discussions and roundtables focused on turning climate technologies into scalable applications. According to the announcement, the platform is intended to help startups secure funding, build partnerships with companies and government bodies, and develop pilot projects for climate solutions.
