Saudi Arabia’s Cultural Fund has signed a financing agreement with Rotana Media Group to support the production of films and television series worth more than SAR 39 million.
The projects will span social comedy, drama and action, with several Saudi actors expected to take part. The partnership aims to expand opportunities for Saudi talent and strengthen local production across the film and television value chain.
According to the announcement, the supported productions are expected to contribute more than SAR 72 million to gross domestic product, create 68 jobs and attract over SAR 12 million in private-sector investment.
The agreement reflects the Cultural Fund’s focus on using financing to develop cultural industries, support local content and encourage private-sector participation. Rotana said the deal is part of a growing portfolio of investments and partnerships in content production, and could lead to further joint projects with the fund.
The deal comes as Saudi Arabia’s cinema market continues to expand. Box office revenue exceeded SAR 920 million in 2025, up around 9% from 2024, while Saudi films generated more than SAR 122 million. Local productions accounted for 11 of the 538 films screened in the kingdom during the year.
