Iraq has launched its first electronic tax assessment system for large taxpayers as part of a wider push to digitize tax administration.
Introduced at the General Commission for Taxes in the presence of Finance Minister Faleh Sari and several ministry director-generals, the system allows taxpayers to complete assessment procedures and make payments remotely, according to the Ministry of Finance.
The platform also supports electronic document archiving and enables audit and compliance teams to review tax returns. The ministry said the system is intended to improve efficiency and help protect public revenues.
The launch marks the first phase of a broader digital transformation of Iraq’s tax administration. Coverage is expected to expand to other taxpayer categories in later phases.
