Egyptian automotive technology startup Auto Pulse has signed a strategic partnership with retail chain Tradeline to distribute its vehicle-monitoring device, app and subscriptions through Tradeline’s stores.

The rollout will begin at 13 Tradeline branches across Greater Cairo. Over the next six months, distribution is expected to expand to 30 locations, including all Tradeline branches and the XPRS network.

Auto Pulse describes its product as a smart watch for cars, developed by Egyptian engineers in Egypt. The device connects to a vehicle’s OBD diagnostic port and uses artificial intelligence to analyse data from the car’s main computer.

According to the company, the platform can provide early warnings about potential engine and electrical faults, monitor battery and engine temperature, analyse fuel efficiency, assess driving habits and recommend maintenance based on the vehicle’s condition.

The device is compatible with more than 95% of cars manufactured since 2005 and integrates with Apple iPhones through iOS. Auto Pulse said its platform is currently used by hundreds of vehicles across consumer and fleet segments in Egypt and the UAE.

The companies plan to hold an official launch event in the first week of November, where visitors will be able to test and purchase the device and activate subscriptions.
