Dubai has launched the Engineers Incubator initiative to help establish 50 Emirati-owned companies in contracting and engineering consultancy.
The programme was created through a cooperation agreement between the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment, Dubai Municipality, the Emirati Human Resources Development Council and the New Economy Academy. It is designed to increase the participation of UAE nationals in Dubai’s housing and construction sectors.
Participants will complete an intensive three-month programme combining professional qualifications, specialised training and practical experience on engineering projects. The initiative will support the creation of engineering consultancies, contracting firms and maintenance companies owned and operated by Emiratis.
The programme follows a six-stage model covering recruitment, qualification, practical application, business establishment, empowerment and sustainability. According to the announcement, the approach is intended to help participants build and manage sustainable businesses while contributing to housing projects across Dubai.
The initiative also aims to strengthen local engineering and construction capabilities and support Dubai’s wider economic and urban development priorities.
